The Fathers Grim Janes Sunday Sermon
Once upon a time in the land of New York City, there were 2 fathers who waited and waited for their gifts to arrive. They waited in vain. June 17th came and went and no shiny new toys arrived at their doors. Each Year...They had received all sort of gifts they never wanted or used but, when those unwanted gifts failed to arrive, they felt forsaken, unloved and unappreciated. Their sorrow turned to anger and stamping their feet, they demanded to know..."What happened to my gifts? Where are my ties that I never wanted to wear? Where is that drinking cup that was always too small? Why didn't my swimming trunks that never fit arrive wrapped in shimmering ribbon waiting for me to exclaim: This was just what I always wanted?" The Fathers were grim. They read the Sunday papers and all the news was bad news. They watched the Sunday shows where the blow hards argued about nothing important. They went for a walk but the air was filled with a muggy foreboding of rain. The Mom and the kids behind this ruse had cooked up a plan that the Fathers grim knew nothing about. They sent the Fathers grim a card. The Card Simply Said This..." I Owe You" And on the back of the card, it simply said "Everything" The Fathers Grim picked up the cards. A forced smile began to curl at their lips and then grew to a grin and finally into a broad smile. There at the bottom of the "I Owe You" page, in letters barely visible, there was a list that read: A new car-A new washer dryer-New Beds-New towels-New sheets-New closets-A new couch-A new dining room table-New TV's-New air conditioners-A New Kitchen-A New Refrigerator-A New House And the list went on and on and on... If you want to know how these Fathers Grim will collect these I owe yous, get on the list for a new launch coming at you next week. It is the list that will advise all Fathers everywhere how to get their children and wives to buy them everything they ever wanted and even everything they never wanted at all. Get on the list to find out more.
