Yakamore the Real Story

Yakamore- The Real Story of a David versus Goliath.

Yakamore, The New Social Media Site on the net has a history behind it.

Here is the real story...

Once upon a time in Nov of 2011, there was a very big site on the net with over 100 million users. We shall call that site Goliath.

One day Goliath decided they would have to change their business model to include advertising revenue and perhaps an ipo down the road.

Advertising prices were set at 5000 to 100,000 per month, out of the reach of most small businesses on the net.

The Goliath site was built up over several years, in part, by many online businesses most of them small businesses.

Starting in Nov 2011, all of a sudden small sites around the net started getting their accounts suspended and their apis suspended without warning or notice.

All of a sudden if too many links appeared on the Goliath site, bingo your site could be suspended.

Then nasty, and often untrue notices, began to appear when people typed in certain urls into a post.

These notices would say: OOPS You may have come across a site that is spammy or unsafe when you tried to type in the url of a certain sites. This notice, designed to freighten the begeezus out of people, was not necessarily true, but Goliath assumed that no one would or could question their right to put up notices that defamed or otherwise interfered with other business sites on the net.

The motive seems clear. If Big Businesses are going to pay thousands and thousands of dollars for advertising with Goliath, then they will not want their own ads competing with the ads of small fries on the net.

Enter David...

So as many of you will recall. When Goliath dressed up in his fighting gear, armor and shields and swords and tried to  frightened the begeezus out of the Israelites, it was David, dressed in shepherds clothes, armed with nothing more than a sling shot and good aim that slew the giant.

Yakamore was born out of a frustration with Goliath who turned its back on the needs of small online business and made it virtually impossible for small businesses to get the exposure they need online to succeed.
